London's Napoli on the Road was named the world's best pizzeria in 2026. Here are the four London pizzerias in the 2026 50 Top Pizza Europe ranking, with what to order and what to expect.
London has become one of the best pizza cities in Europe, and the 2026 awards made that official. A London pizzeria, Napoli on the Road, was crowned the best in the world at the 50 Top Pizza World Awards in Naples, and four London pizzerias appear in the guide's 2026 ranking of Europe's 50 best. England has 22 pizzerias on its 200-strong European list, behind only Spain and France.
This guide covers the four London pizzerias in that European top 50, from a Soho restaurant with a pizza tasting menu to a Peckham newcomer that opened in 2026. For each one we say what to order, what it costs where we could confirm a price and how to book.
This is an editorial selection, not a scientific or absolute ranking. We started with the 2026 50 Top Pizza Europa ranking and the 2026 World ranking, which are compiled by anonymous inspectors, and checked each pizzeria's address, menu and prices against its own listings. We did not add pizzerias that we could not confirm.
The guide is compiled from published reporting, not from personal visits. Menus, prices and opening hours change often, so check current details before you go.
| Pizzeria | Area | Style | Price | 2026 recognition |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Napoli on the Road | Soho, Chiswick, Richmond | Contemporary Neapolitan | Pizzas about £13 to £18; tasting menu £65 | No. 1 in the world and in Europe |
| 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo | Trafalgar Square | High-hydration Neapolitan | About £25 per person | No. 4 in Europe; No. 23 in the world |
| L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele | Several London branches | Traditional Neapolitan | Check the branch menu | No. 28 in Europe |
| Connie's Pizza | Peckham | "Bri-talian" pizza | Check the menu | No. 48 in Europe; One to Watch |
Price figures come from the pizzerias' recent menus and listings. Delivery menus are often higher than dine-in prices, and actual bills vary with drinks and sides.
These four pizzerias account for every London entry in the 2026 European top 50. They cover three different styles, from contemporary Neapolitan to a deliberately London take on pizza.
Napoli on the Road has three London restaurants: the original at 9A Devonshire Road in Chiswick, a branch at 12 Red Lion Street in Richmond and a Soho site at 140 Wardour Street. Michele Pascarella, who comes from Maddaloni near Naples, started it in 2016 from a three-wheeled Piaggio Ape with a wood-fired oven and opened the Chiswick restaurant in 2019. In 2026 it took first place at the 50 Top Pizza World Awards and first place in Europe for the third year in a row.
The signature pizza is Ricordi d'Infanzia, topped with slow-cooked beef ragù, a Parmigiano Reggiano DOP fondue and basil, which 50 Top Pizza named Pizza of the Year in 2025. A 2025 dine-in menu listed the margherita at £12.90 and Ricordi d'Infanzia at £17.90, and delivery prices are higher. The Soho site also has a basement tasting menu that costs £65, with a wine pairing at £40, and it begins with fried starters and includes four pizzas.
50 Kalò is at 7 Northumberland Avenue, near Trafalgar Square, and opened in 2018 as the London branch of a Naples pizzeria run by third-generation pizzaiolo Ciro Salvo. The name is Neapolitan slang for "good dough". It ranked No. 4 in Europe and No. 23 in the world in 2026, and it also won the world award for Best Fried Food.
Salvo's dough has a hydration of about 70 percent and ferments for a long time, which produces a soft, airy crust. The Gambero Rosso guide recommends the margherita and the Nerano, with zucchini cream, fior di latte, fried zucchini, provolone del monaco and mint, along with the crocchè and montanare. Gambero Rosso lists an average price of about £25 per person, and the restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.
L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele is the London branch of the historic Naples pizzeria that has become famous around the world. It ranked No. 28 on the 2026 Europe list. There is more than one London branch, so check which one you are booking and its menu.
The restaurant focuses on traditional Neapolitan pizza with a long-fermented dough and a wood-fired oven, and the classic orders are the margherita and the marinara. It is a good choice if you want a traditional Neapolitan pizza rather than a modern reinterpretation.
Connie's Pizza is in Peckham, in South London, and opened at the beginning of 2026. It ranked No. 48 on the 2026 European list and won the One to Watch award, an unusually fast recognition for a pizzeria that new. It comes from the founder of 081 Pizzeria.
The restaurant calls its style "Bri-talian" pizza, which blends London-style pizza with Italian technique and the crisper crust that Londoners often prefer. It is the best choice here if you want to see where London pizza is heading.
Napoli on the Road took first place in the 2026 50 Top Pizza World ranking, announced in Naples.
